Hi Patricia,
Sorry to hear you are experiencing problems with your Microboards Printer.
There are a few things you can check:
On each new cartridge there is a removable plastic tab stuck to the print head, please ensure that this has been completely removed, and that there is nothing obstructing the nozzle on the underside of the cartridge.
Please also ensure that you are using an official Microboards cartridge. Although compatible cartridges are available, the are sometimes less reliable and can cause the machine not to operate properly.
If you have an alternative black cartridge available, please attempt to print from that to see if it works, then let me know.
Kind Regards
David

OK. if you've checked all those its possible there could be some problem with the unit. You will need to call the Microbards technical support line. The number is: [edited]
Please let me know how you get on.

Hi [edited]
I have spoken to the technical support people who suggested that I clean the base of the print cartridge and check if the ink is comeing out which I did and there was ink coming out. After cleaning the cartridge I put it back into the machine and printed a test disc and a label both of which came out pink with no black showing.

Hi Patricia,
If you have already tried a different black cartridge, and cleaned your current one, it could be that the problem is with the machine itself.
I have to be honest, it is an unusual fault if that is the case, but we can obviously arrange for the machine to be repaired.
i suggest you call Microboards technical support one more time, to tell them the cleaning did not work, and to perhaps further confirm it could be the printer itself.
If they confirm it could be a printer problem, let me know and I'll send you an RMA form to get the product fixed ASAP.
Kind Regards

Hi David
I have contacted the technical support team and they agree that I will have to send the printer back to you. Could you give me an RMA form so as I can arrange for the machine to be sent to you. do I have to take the cartridges out of the maching before sending it?
Thank you for your help

Hi Pat
Since the unit is out of warranty we can issue you a returns number so you can send it in for evaluation at a cost of £50 exc vat.
We can then give an estimate of the repair cost (parts and labour and shipping). If you proceed with the repair we waive the £50 fee.
Please confirm you wish to proceed on this basis so if required we can send your RMA number, thanks.
