hello, a few question about the bravo se.
1. it says it is for light use. how many disks a week could it handle without any danger of damage? if more disks were made, would this invalidate any guarantee?
2. many inkjet on disk printers seem to have needed the finished cd's spraying with some finishing solution. this is no good for my needs, what is the score with this model? the results must be durable with no other processes applying.
3. i would want to use taiyo yuden media, is there any suitable?
4. based on todays prices of the ink, how much exactly per disk would it cost to print a full colour full coverage image onto a cd? could you supply the calculation you used?
Please find enclosed the answers to your questions.
it says it is for light use. how many disks a week could it handle without any danger of damage? if more disks were made, would this invalidate any guarantee?
The Bravo SE is designed for light use, and has a monthly job cycle of 1-300 per month or 75 Discs per week, The unit will easily be able to handle 100-150 discs per week without being damaged, although it is highly recommended that you stick to the monthly job cycle. If more discs were made, it would not generally invalidate the warranty as there is no way of us finding out. If you do see yourself going over these limits then it would be better if you purchased the Bravo 2 unit.
Many inkjet on disk printers seem to have needed the finished cd's spraying with some finishing solution. this is no good for my needs, what is the score with this model? the results must be durable with no other processes applying.
The unit is like a normal inkjet printer, and if you do not want to apply any other processes then a good solution would to purchase our durable and professional looking Taiyo Yuden Watershield CD-R
i would want to use Taiyo Yuden media, is there any suitable?
As discussed in question 2, I would highly recommend that you use Taiyo Yuden Watershield CD-R?s

based on today?s prices of the ink, how much exactly per disk would it cost to print a full colour full coverage image onto a CD? Could you supply the calculation you used?
There is no firm answer to this question, but the Primera Colour ink cartridge will last for approximately 130 Full face prints, The Primera Black ink cartridge will last for approximately 200 prints. The costs of the cartridges are both ?24.60 ex VAT each, which brings it to ?49.20 per pair. if we divide this total by 130 we get 38p per print. But I must stress that these are only approximate figures, the black ink cartridge will last a lot longer than the colour, and it is dependent on what you are printing.
I hope that the information that I have provided you is of benefit to you. Should you wish to place an order please do not hesitate to contact me.
Actually made a mis-calculation with the Bravo SE, The Bravo SE only has a one cartridge system which will cost you 18p per print, but will still do between 130-150 prints depending on Art work.
The previous ink cartridge estimates are for the Bravo 2, the prices I have quoted are more over-estimates than under estimates. I have based the figures on both the black and colour doing exactly 130 prints, rather than factoring the black lasts a lot longer, so the prices of cost per print for the Bravo 2 is going to be less than 38p quoted.
The monthly job cycle for a Bravo 2 is between 500-800 prints, the kiosk kit allows you to boost the capacity from 25 discs to 50 disc capacity. Allowing you to increase capacity of your production without have to change it for every 25 disc.
The exact difference between Taiyo Yuden Watershield and normal Inkjet printable discs, is Watershield offer a glossy, water-resistant layered disc, the normal inkjet printable is just a Matt finish and will wash off if subjected to water.
You may wish to consider something like a Microboards Printfactory 2 which will print discs at approximately 14p per disc.
