We bought a Primera Bravo Pro from yourselves on 17th December 2007. It has developed a fault whereby I am unable to callibrate the printer when installing a new colour ink cartridge.
I have attempted to callibrate it using the printer driver as well as the automatic callibration that happens when you try to print to a CD from PrimoCD. Neither of these has been successful. I have also tried cleaning the cartridges and replacing them with alternative brand new ones but I am still unable to print.
Hi Phillip,
Do you have the Bravo Pro printer, or the publisher (the unit with the 2 DVD drives)?

It is a Bravo Pro Publisher.

OK Phillip.
There is now alot of new software available for the publishers. There are a few things you can try, which should get your machine up and running again.
Firstly, I would try and update the firmware inside the unit. You will need to download and run this file: http://www.primera.com/ftp/Firmware/FirmwareDPProv1.26(37).exe
You can then update your printer driver by downloading this file: http://www.primera.com/ftp/XPVistaDriver/DriverDPProv1.19.exe for instructions on removing your previous driver (and updating to the new version) click here: http://server.iad.liveperson.net/hc/s-77406906/cmd/kbresource/kb-6069550081102118948/view_question!PAGETYPE?sq=driver+installation+instructions+PC&sf=101113&sg=0&st=780704&documentid=12283&action=view
You can attempt to print once more using Surething CD labeller, or publish a disc through PrimoDVD.
If this does not work, I would suggest you update your software to the latest version.
The new software is called PTPublisher. However updating to this may require you to re-compile your saved jobs from PrimoDVD as the two are not cross-compatible.
The new software can be found here: http://www.primera.com/downloads/support/PTPublisher/PTPublisherv1.2.3.exe
Please let me know how these updates go!
Kind Regards,
David

I have installed the updated firmware. I was already using the latest printer driver but went through the reinstallation process anyway.
I installed PTPublisher and patched it to version 1.2.4. I then used the built in cartridge cleaner and alignment utilities in PTPublisher. The alignment failed with no cyan marks appearing on the callibration CD. I replaced the colour catridge (which had 95% ink) with a new one. The alignment automatically ran and completed successfully and I am now able to print CDs correctly.
I am now left with 3 colour ink cartridges that were purchased from yorselves last week that won't align.

Hi Phillip,
I'm glad you managed to get your machine printing again. It is unusual that you can not align those 3 cartridges though. Does it appear all 3 cartridges are missing cyan?
You can try doing a thorough clean of the cartridges as per Primeras guidelines: http://server.iad.liveperson.net/hc/s-77406906/cmd/kbresource/kb-4143434629279114817/view_question!PAGETYPE?sq=clean%2bcartridge&sp=21&sf=101113&sg=1&st=789915&documentid=144863&action=view
How many discs would you say each of the 3 cartridges has printed? Kind Regards,
David
