We purchased a pair of Microboards PF-2 printers from yourselves about 3 years ago.
Both printers have recently developed faults - Discs do not load properly, they sit at a 45 degree angle and have to be fed through manually or it sends through multiple discs causing blockages and printing problems. A few days ago one of the 2 printers stopped working completely and will no longer respond to any printing commands, when lifting the lid the ink cartridges do not move to centre etc.
We would like to have both printers examined one at a time starting with the non responsive one.
Can you please advise on the best procedure to have these machine(s) restored to full working order
Hi Dave, best thing to do is send it to us for evaluation. This will cost £50.00 per printer where a diagnoses will take place and a quotation provided. If you can fill in a RMA Request which follows this email. So that you can send the unit to us. [edited]

Associated ticket 893 with ticket 929 due to RMA E-mail problems.
Both tickets are for the same unit.

Hi Dave, I have been looking at your Printfactory 2 for the last couple of days and cannot find any problems with it. I am however going to give your machine a service. But could you outline any other problems you have been having with the machine. [edited]

As mentioned in our original message, this printer has been experiencing problems loading discs (Verbatim DVD-Rs are always a problem, CDs are OK) with them getting jammed in the mechanism, necessitating discs being loaded one at a time by hand.
Also this printer then failed to respond to any print commands.
It has gradually become more troublesome in the time we've had it regarding disc handling and print alignment accuracy. If you have found nothing wrong, either it fixed itself in transit or you need to investigate further.

Hi Dave,
I would love it to fix itself in transit but I think that would be classed as a miracle. I will look into it further for you to see if I can replicate the problems you have been having.

Thanks for looking further into it, it's very annoying when a machine that has been causing us increasing problems for months if not more is working perfectly for you! We do find that the Verbatim DVD-R printable discs 'stick' together a bit but we try and separate them before loading into the printer. However, even if it decides to load them OK it will often send through an unprinted disc from time to time.

Hi Dave, it is always good to check to see if the discs have been separated. If you do duplication and printing, the easiest way is the duplicate first then print, that way you can pretty much guarantee the discs are separated. As for the allignment I'm assuming that you have tinkered around with the allignment settings within the Surething software to ensure that allignment is spot on?

Yes we do duplicate then print, but the Verbatim DVD-Rs in particular don't flow into the machine as well as CDs. Yes we have adjusted the alignment in the Surething software, but the printers don't seem to hold the settings accurately. When printing colour over the entire disc surface, we usually have a small white line of unprinted disc on one side, and undried ink outside the printing surface on the other side, but again this is not consistent and difficult to irradicate.
