I have a Primera bravo 2 which only reads and writes CDs. I need it to read DVDS also. I was told by one of your staff that it would be possible to upgrade and would be cheaper to do so if this model has USB2 compatible. The Board number is 05220455 Rev F4 Bravo2 mode 2 08-24-03. If you could contact me asap so I would appreciate that as I would like to get this upgraded
Hi Sean,
Can you please tell me the serial number of the unit?
Customer - 2008-09-17 15:54:15
Where would I find the serial number? I thought it was Bravo2 mode 2 08-24-03
David - 2008-09-17 16:01:04
It should be on the back of the machine, somewhere near the USB port.
Possibly starting with the numbers 20*********'.

I wondered if it was possible from the information I have given whether the device is USB1 Or USB2? The Board number is 05220455 Rev F4 Bravo2 mode 2 08-24-03. I spoke to someone on the phone last week and thats all the information they required. thanks alot

it mite be 2 08-24-03? unfortunately not with machine at the moment.
David - 2008-09-17 16:18:53
Hi Sean,
Primera also need the serial number of the unit in order to determine if it is USB2.0 compatible. Sadly 2 08-24-03 is not the serial - it is a 10 digit number located on the back of the machine. I will need this before I can continue.

The Serial number for the machine is 2050601475 thank you
David - 2008-09-22 14:31:32
Thanks Sean, I'll let you know ASAP.

Hi Sean,
I've spoken with Primera and they inform me the board attached to that serial number is USB 2.0. This means you should have no problem upgrading the drive in the machine to a DVD-RW drive, without needing to upgrade the board itself.
if you would like us to upgrade the unit for you please let me know. Our labour charge is £50 + VAT, and the cost of a new drive (flashed with Primeras drive firmware) is approximately £30 + VAT.
Kind Regards,
David
