1) At the rear of the belt on the DX1 there is a little sensor, which looks like 2 very small squares of dark red glass side by side. Clean this with Isopropyl Alcohol, or Tape Head Cleaner (which is the same thing). This is to get rid of any dirt or ink that may be on there.
2) If that doesn’t work please try the following:
3) Turn the printer off and unplug the USB cable
4) Click Start and go to Printers and Faxes. In there highlight the Microboards printer and Delete it. Click Yes if it asks for confirmation
5) Click Start and go to the Control Panel. In there double click System
6) On the window that opens up there are some tabbed pages, click on the one marked Hardware. On this page click the button marked Device Manager.
7) In this new window look down the list and find the entry Ports and click the + next to it to expand the list.
8) In the list of ports find one that says Com 3 or higher. It may also mention it as being a USB to UART Bridge Controller. Highlight it and delete it.
9) Restart Windows
10) When Windows has completely finished loading your desktop turn on the printer and then plug in the USB cable.
11) Let Windows install the printer
12) Send a print job to the printer
13) Let me know if this works.

Still not working. I need to send you images of the error messages I'm getting. Do you have a standard e mail address?

I have tried re-installing the software, but it's still not working. The engineer mentioned something about installing a FTDI file, but I can't see a way of doing this. Any suggestions?
